The Story of CVMA Chapter 10-7: From Independence to Strength in Unity

In the heart of South Central Oklahoma, where the rolling plains meet the spirit of the open road, a band of combat veterans found brotherhood on two wheels. This is the tale of how Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association® Chapter 10-7, born from the grit and camaraderie of Ardmore's finest, evolved from Detachment 10-1B under the wing of the storied Chapter 10-1, a transformation not of loss, but of renewed purpose and unbreakable bonds.

The Spark: Founding Chapter 10-7 in Ardmore

It all began in 2024, amid the thunder of engines and the call of veteran service. Ardmore, a town steeped in Southern Oklahoma pride, was home to a growing number of combat vets from every branch— Soldiers who'd stormed the sands of Iraq, Sailors who'd braved Pacific swells, Airmen who'd logged hours over hostile skies, and Marines who'd held the line in Afghanistan. These warriors, united by their shared scars of battle and love for the freedom of the highway, felt the pull of the CVMA mission: "Vets Helping Vets."

Inspired by the national CVMA's founding in 2001 as a nonprofit haven for motorcycle-riding combat veterans, a core group of Ardmore locals petitioned for their own chapter. Drawing from the legacy of Oklahoma's flagship Chapter 10-1 in Oklahoma City, chartered on March 1, 2006, they built on that foundation but sought autonomy to serve their community more directly. With enough verified full members (combat vets) and support members (non-combat vets dedicated to the cause), plus auxiliary spouses ready to ride alongside, they met CVMA's rigorous standards.

By September 2025 Chapter 10-7 was officially chartered. The patch was sewn, the colors raised, and the first rides rolled . Supporting other CVMA chapters from Arizona to Georgia and Texas to South Dakota, to escorts for fallen heroes at Seaman First Class Billy Turner Veterans Cemetery. The newly established Chapter 10-7 quickly became a beacon in South Central Oklahoma, hosting meet-and-greets at spots like Swinging S Saloon and joining forces with groups like the Patriot Guard Riders for dignified send-offs. Their motto echoed the CVMA ethos; “Out Of Service, Yet Still Serving”. As of October 2025, CVMA Chapter 10-7 stands strong in Ardmore, with members proudly wearing the CVMA back patch.

This evolution mirrors the CVMA own history—from a scrappy 2001 startup of 45 vets to a global force with chapters in 50 states and beyond. For the men and women of Chapter 10-7, the road ahead is wide open. They've traded solo miles for a convoy's roar, proving that in the CVMA, every twist strengthens the pack.
